THE MIDDLEBROOK PRIZE

The Middlebrook Prize for Young Canadian Curators is an annual award given to the country’s brightest curator under 30. The logo was created by housing all six of its initials [MPYCC] within a cube net configuration—the 2-dimensional deconstruction of a cube. The many possible configurations allowed for 64 variations of the logo. Although each iteration organized the letters differently, they all formed a perfect cube—in the same way a successfully curated art exhibition always results in a compelling visual experience, with a cohesive thought at its core. The Middlebrook Prize itself brought the logo to life by taking on the shape of a fully formed cube.
